Every secret in the opening demo: the Cestus chest, destructible walls hiding meat pickups, EXP statues and Mirror of Life spots, in one checklist.
Belmonts Curse Demo Secrets and Collectibles: Every Secret Found
The opening demo has exactly one secret the developers went out of their way to hide — the Cestus gauntlet chest behind a ceiling route — plus two kinds that repeat across the Paris streets and sewers: breakable walls holding health-restoring meat, and EXP statues parked above the main path. Mirror of Life checkpoints are not secrets, but they let you re-sweep a cleared room.
Set expectations before the list: Konami has published no secret count, no completion percentage and no full collectible list — for the demo or the full game. Everything below is verifiable as of October 5, 2026, based on the free demo that launched October 1, 2026.

Official source: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo page — the demo covers the game's opening chapter, and save data transfers to the full version.
The full demo secret checklist
| Secret | Location | Requirement | Reward | Can you miss it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cestus gauntlet chest | Ceiling route above the Sewer Reservoir — the room right after the first Mirror of Life | Beat The Fallen for the Arcane Whip, then whip upward from the grate platform in the middle of the background staircase to reveal a hidden Anchor (walkthrough-confirmed) | Cestus weapon, plus the on-screen dev message "Congratulations! Your first secret uncovered!" | Yes, and nothing hints it exists. It is unreachable before the boss, and the room beyond it is a full enemy wave |
| Breakable secret walls | Off-route walls in the Paris streets and sewers (officially described, not individually mapped) | Nothing. Hit them | Occasionally a health-restoring meat pickup | No — nothing else in the demo is gated behind one |
| EXP statues | High ledges and ceiling alcoves off the main route (player-reported) | Platforming tools; no key item is named as required | Experience | No — pure progression, no unlock behind it |
| Mirror of Life checkpoints | Throughout the opening chapter | None | Save and respawn point | Not a secret — it is a required save you pass through |
| Holy Cross Arcana | The Fallen, the demo's only boss fight | Beat The Fallen | The boss sealed into Rose's tarot deck as the Holy Cross Arcana, usable for spells and special actions | Not missable — story-gated |
Two things often mistaken for secrets: Anchors are not collectibles but the gold and purple grapple points the Arcane Whip latches onto, and the whip route itself is ordinary traversal once you own the whip. How the whip behaves is covered in Arcane Whip and Anchor Traversal in the Belmont's Curse Demo.
The Cestus chest route, step by step
This is the demo's one developer-flagged secret, documented step by step with Konami screenshots by Rock Paper Shotgun. The dedicated Cestus page goes deeper on the combat side; the route itself is short.
- Beat The Fallen in the sewers. The whip is what opens the route, so this is a hard gate. If the fight is what's stopping you, the Fallen boss guide covers the patterns.
- Enter the Sewer Reservoir — the room immediately after the first Mirror of Life save point. It is labelled on the in-game map.
- Climb the upper level with the whip until Rose stands on the grate platform in the middle of the huge background staircase. Getting onto that specific platform is the part people miss.
- Whip straight up above you. This reveals a hidden Anchor that is not normally shown. Hook it and Rose launches upward.
- Open the chest in the room above. Jump up and interact. Evil Empire congratulates you on screen, then the room fills with enemies — a fair test for a pair of fast gloves.
Once equipped, the Cestus builds damage the longer you keep punching, Rose glows while the combo runs, and an Arcane Whip grab into a punch produces a heavy Uppercut.
Breakable walls and the meat behind them
Konami's PlayStation Blog hands-on describes the map as having "destructible secret walls" alongside areas that stay visibly locked until you have the right skill. The walls are the mechanism; the payload is occasionally a piece of meat that restores health — a series staple Konami has promoted on its own channels. Nothing official enumerates how many walls the demo has, so treat wall-breaking as a habit rather than a checklist item with a counter.
Whip upward in every room that looks like it has a loft. The demo's hidden routes — the Cestus ceiling included — are almost all vertical, and the breakable walls are often above head height rather than beside you.
EXP statues: what players are actually reporting
Multiple players who finished the demo describe most of its hidden content as EXP statues rather than items: a statue tucked into a ceiling or an alcove that rewards you for stopping off the main route. That is community reporting, not an official list, and Konami has confirmed no statue count. What is confirmed is that the demo's hidden routes exist and that none of the statues unlock anything — they are progression, not keys. For a room-by-room route instead of a category list, see the demo walkthrough.
Use the Mirror of Life checkpoints to re-sweep
Mirror of Life is what the game calls its save points. The demo is a single opening chapter with one boss at the end, so saving there and backtracking lets you re-check a room you rushed through before you had the whip — exactly the failure mode that hides the Cestus route. Where to download the demo and how far it runs is in the demo guide.
Konami states the demo save can transfer to the full version on the same platform with the same account, that the demo save must be retained, and that the full version must be updated to its latest version. Konami does not itemise what transfers, so do not assume a demo secret carries over. The save transfer rules are worth five minutes up front.
What is not in the demo — fill this in on launch day
| Item | Status as of October 5, 2026 | When it gets confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Total secrets or completion percentage, demo and full game | Never announced by Konami | Not promised; we will report it if it appears in-game after launch |
| Which of the 7 weapon categories ship in the demo | Only the Longsword and the Cestus are playable; the other five categories are unnamed | Full game, October 15, 2026 |
| Number of Arcana obtainable in the demo | Konami names Holy Cross as the The Fallen reward but has not stated a demo total | Verified by playthrough once the full game is out |
| Full Relic list | Crypt Key is the only Relic Konami has named by example | Full game |
| Whether demo-found secrets persist into the full game | Konami confirms save transfer, not itemised contents | Launch day, tracked on our release date page |
Anything past the demo — the full boss order, the endings, the complete Arcana deck — is unannounced and stays that way until release on October 15, 2026.
FAQ
Is the Cestus missable if I never find it? Yes, permanently for that save. It sits behind a ceiling route that only opens after The Fallen gives you the Arcane Whip, nothing in the demo points at it, and there is no hint marker. Follow the five steps above.
Do demo secrets carry into the full game? Konami says demo save data transfers to the full version, with the same platform and account, the demo save retained, and the full version on its latest version. The publisher has not said which specific items or discoveries come across, so treat demo secrets as demo secrets until launch.
Is there a secret ending in the demo? Nothing published describes one. The demo covers the opening chapter and ends at The Fallen, and no verifiable source mentions a distinct demo ending. Treat any claim of a demo secret ending as unverified.
Does the demo show a secret percentage? No completion counter has been reported in the demo, and Konami has published no total to measure against. That is why the table above lists what is individually documented instead of a percentage.
